The Model 784 is a high performance, FSK/AM/PM modulator that produces SGLS (Space Ground Link Subsystem) compatible command subcarriers.

Three software selectable input sources allow the Model 784 to accept SGLS Dibit encoded data, ternary tone control, or external serial data for tone generation. A digital frequency synthesizer is utilized to produce the SGLS Tri-tone signals (65 KHz, 76 KHz, 95 KHz, or other tone sets). AM modulation is provided for command rates of 1 Kbps, 2Kbps, 5Kbps, and 10Kbps. An internal, selectable tap PRN generator supports BER testing and ranging applications. The FSK/AM subcarrier phase modulates a second tunable subcarrier at frequencies from DC to 10 MHz. All user selectable options are programmed from the front unit panel or from remote control. The Model 784 is housed in GDP's standard 3.5" rack-mountable instrumentation chassis.
