Data Transmission Test Set (DTTS - BERT) - Model 620

[ Data Test Sets / Data Quality Monitors / Detectors ]

The GDP Model 620 Data Transmission Test Set (DTTS or BERT) provides high performance data-link verification and qualification at an affordable price.

The unit consists of totally independent transmit and receive functions to allow rapid fault isolation and data link characterization through real-time bit contiguous tests. An IRIG Code converter makes the Model 620 especially suited to the test and evaluation of PCM Telemetry data link systems and components.

Features

  • Data Link Testing up to 25 Mbps
  • Separate Transmitter and Receiver
  • Symmetry & Bit Slip Tests
  • Bit, Block and Second Tests
  • 9 Selectable PRN Patterns
  • 32 bit-programmable pattern
  • TX, RX Frequency Measurements
  • Hardcopy Output of Results
  • Internal Frequency Synthesizer
  • IRIG Code Conversion
  • Variety of Interfaces Types
  • Local, RS232, and IEEE-488 Control
  • 3½" Rack Mount Chassis

The Model 620, as a Bit-Error-Rate-Tester (BERT), offers the following measurements: Accumulated Bit Errors, Measured Bit Error Rate, Accumulated Block Errors, Accumulated Error Seconds, Measured error Symmetry, Accumulated Bit Count Integrity loss (Bit Slips), Measured Transmit and Receive clock rate.

Operating ease and test flexibility is the result of microprocessor control. A high contrast vacuum fluorescent display provides setup and test result information in convenient formats. Hardcopy printer output includes all test measurements, time of day, and a user programmable 32 character header to facilitate test logging.

The Model 620 Data Transmission Test Set is controlled from the front panel or, using either the RS-232 or IEEE-488 interface, the remote control port.
