The Model 224P provides the ability to receive and process a telemetry data stream which contains minor frame, major frame, and asynchronously embedded data. It accepts serial data and clock and provides reconstructed data samples with a 16 bit ID tag on a parallel output port.

The internal RAM-based decommutator within the Model 224P supports variable word length, MSB/LSB orientation, parity strip, data shift, and Pass/Drop on a word-by-word basis. Format Switching allows the user to load a primary and secondary set of decommutation instructions. The primary set is executed until a specified ID tag and data value has been detected. Upon detection the Model 224P automatically switches to the secondary decommutation list. Data Quality Monitoring counters are provided to give the user a realtime indication of the quality of the received telemetry data. The number of Check or Lock Frames, Inverted Frames, Flywheel Frames, and Lock Dropouts are displayed on the unit front panel and are also available through remote control.
